children are our angels on earth.
they are not meant to be soldiers of war.
they should be bringing love and laughter,
not tears and violence. help them.

join the red hand campaign by the national geographic.
it's to help asia's child soldiers.
go to this site :) http://www.asiangeo.com/redhandcampaign/contact.html

    talk about LDR.

    sigh.
i suddenly miss my dad and my sisters, kitkat and kim.
a real family in under one roof. you know?
    well, mostly my dad.
sunday brunch, homework nights, senseless conversations.
dial 411. name? message? the heckofaninvention that pager.
the day santa clause came and gave me my first encyclopedia.
company christams party. summer beach outings.
biting, shouting, fighting, joking, insulting each other.
    kitkat playing with dolls.
kim teaching herself in the mirror.
late movie times at dm (divisoria mall) or tutuban.
orange julius, chuan kee, hapchan, shoppers, bdo church, starbucks.
my dad sending us early in the morning and fetching me from school.
afterschool hangouts at the printing press.
balut, century egg, sarsi, vcut, hawflakes, mahu(floss), almond cake, and cornedbeef.
really lousy and slow old green L300 van that goes:
"careful! this car is backing up!!"
my dad's really old lousy green blanket.
    488B. 2nd floor apartment.
    mr cupido and woodenheart.

but oh that morning when everything changed.

    sigh
now, its all just, 15-30minutes long distance phone calls
that are getting more and more scripted and business-like by the moment.

    9 years.
so many things have happened but one thing has never changed--will never change.

    stupid alone time.
makes me feel all fluffy and soft and vulnerable inside.

Families are like fudge - mostly sweet with a few nuts.

    02:22pm

okay. so, so, last week i went for my first uni camp. its for a club called- catholic students apostolates camp CSA FOC. it was a really small camp and the activities werent straineous at all so everyone had fun bonded really well. i have a feeling that it was a beginning of a new friendship---maybe even a family in ntu. nice! :)

on sunday, i also went for a catholic filipino youth group thing called-breaking pandesal. pandesal is layman's kind of bread which everyone eats as a taple food for breakfast in the philippines. only worth one peso apiece back when i was young. anyway, only very very few people were there but i guess its a step. i didnt want to go at first. dont get me wrong. i am actually eager to have this journey of knowing God but i dont want being pressured into things. i want it slowly but surely. but well, a voice whispered to me saying give them the benefit of the doubt---henceforth i went. and it was ok. no regrets but no promises. :)

since i did not get into my faculty camp for this week, i have just been hanging around my friends---cherishing the last few times we can hang around carefree before everyone flies off and we get to busy with our uni life. errands. movies. guitar. hanging around.

    on monday,
i went to 20nassim road, philippine embassy (singapore)
    -finally renew my passport
-and i am now a registered voter!!! yey! :)

    on tuesday,
i went to watch harry potter.
    such a blah movie.
    disappointing.
i sure hope that the last movie will be way better.
give the story a little credit.
honestly, they should choose a bit of highlights from the book and put some essence and real emotions while filming it instead of trying to summarise the whole book. coz, the movie just seem like a series of snapshot of the book which lacks quality, significance, and emotion so it fails to capture the audience. while i was watching it in the movie house, it felt like they force me to sit down and just absorb everything- no thinking no feeling. hello?! information overload! blahhh.

    on wednesday,
solar eclipse people! but thanks to the rain. we can even see the 10% eclipse over here in singapore. so pathetic. i had to watch on channel news asia. booo! any chance that ill still be alive in 2132 for the next eclipse?!?!! i was browsing the news to see that india and china still have superstitions about the eclipse. bad omens for the hindus, so kids and pregnant ladies must stay inside and people must wash their feet. i wonder if those superstitions are true coz if its, then the possibility that 2012 WILL be the end of the world is, hence, one step more true now. oh fudge!

now, im just onlining---THE WHOLE DAY. okay since yesterday. in fact. loser. surfing youtube, msn and facebook. yep. this three can keep you occupied for more than 24 hours nonstop. amazing. but i found some realisation while using facebook. shall post it soon. :)

im trying to play guitar now. with my uber pathetic guitar skills. trying to master "everything" by michael buble. hehehe:) at least, i can tick one more thing off my "list of things to do during summer"

suying just left today--930 am flight to perth. oh so sad. when liselle leaves on aug13, practically 90% the friends ive had in this small country for the past 2years will be gone onto greener pastures. sigh.
annoying global citizens of 21st century. born in country A. study in country B. work in country C. reproduce in country D. and die in country E.

PS: if liselle is by any chance reading this, get well soon. i wanna go over there. :)

now, i feel like i can face anything the world throws at me :)

an awesome awesome awesome weekend! :D
when things start to go crazy, no one can take these days away from me.

    the sky is infinitely blue.

    x
one trait i dont want to surround myself is emo-ness. those suicidal type who always have a very very bleak view of life.
those people who always think that something bad is gonna happen around the corner.

i always have faith in life.
i always believe that hings will turn out fine and for the better.
i trust that eventhough there are a lot of greed and hate in the world,
there;s a lot more FUN and LAUGHTER and LOVE.
yes. i have a very nice bright blue of life---maybe even naive.
i trust that everyone can be trusted.
i think that pple who seem like b!t-hes and b-st-rds also have a good kind heart somewhere inside.
    thats why blind people smile,
or people with terminal diseases find the strength to wake up everyday,
thats why birds still fly and winds still blow.

yes. so, tmr morning when you wake up, greet your friends...
    Good Morning!!! :)
    breath in fresh morning air.
enjoy a good cup of coffee. not the commercialised one.
    smile at strangers.
    sing while you shower.
do a favour for a friend.
and hang with them--do spontaneous things.
watch fireworks light up like millions of stars in the sky.

    coz life is good :)

look up the sky and see for yourself.

    makansutra in the philippines

i heard that there's a newly opened Singaporean Foodcourt at Manila's Ocean Park. its name is Makansutra--yep. duh?! yah. i cant wait to go back home to the philippines and try out how the laksa and char siew rice and kway tiaw will taste like over there. :)

Honestly, the singaporean culture of having hawker stalls and kopitiams is one thing i love the most in singapore. this is a true singapore thing that sometimes, my friends and i will prefer to eat at kopitiam instead of fastfood places because its is cheaper, healthier, and serve better food. In most developing countries, fastfood chains have been a part and parcel of their lives that people still opt to eat in places such as McDonald's, Burger King, and KFC even when they are not in a rush. The result?! Young children who prefer greasy fastfood which gives them a higher tendency to be overweight and unhealthy. They think that double cheeseburger with large fries and large coke are normal everyday meals as opposed to mom's home-made beef stew with good ol' staple rice and fresh orange juice. If only foodcourts were more convenient, cheaper, and more accessible in developing countries, such as mine, we would not be so dependent on Jolibee and McDonald's for our breakfast, lunch, and dinner. henceforth, our generation may live a lifestyle that is a little but bit healthier and greener and not greasier.

Even more so, with the ubiquity of fast food chains, their projected image and advertising sometimes send mixed signals to our impressionable children. For example, there was an ad before wherein the kid wants to to mass because he knows that they will be going to a fastfood place after that--hence the incentive. Moreover, recently, Singapore-based Burger King spread out an ad "That Will Blow Your Mind Away." This ad would surely catch your mind and your tastebuds--especially with the white mayonaisse dripping from the top layer. But i'm quite sure that it will make you think on how our media is turning to sexual content with little regard for young children who may patronize their shops.

As for me, i try not to eat fastfood as much as I can. In fact i have a couple of friends who have not eaten fastfood for more than a year now. yes. its possible. live a healthier lifestyle. healthier does not mean its not as delicious. in fact, it may even be more scrumptious. ask makansutra :)

    kiSmet

the bullet has your name on it---so they say.

do u believe in fate? do u believe in destiny?
Destiny refers to a predetermined course of events.
so, do u think that everything that happens in our lives are already predetermined?

in our daily pursuit to become successful, we naturally want to think that all of us have free willl and we can actually reach something more than what we already have. when u turn around and see all the people in the subway scurrying to get to their job and get ahead of their coworkers, who are we to say "nah. your only meant to be an assistant and you cant get anywhere higher than that." but, honestly, who can say that "our fate is NOT YET sealed" with utter confidence huh?

for my part, i dont really believe in fate. nor in destiny.
BUT i believe that there;s a larger universe out there with a plan.
a plan that isnt carved in stone.
and id like to believe that it works in merit and demerit system.
like karma. what goes around--comes around.
i like to believe that Serendipity happens.
that sometimes, things are just meant to be.
Like the stars falling in place to form the Orion's belt.
or the sun rising in the east and setting in the west.
or how people fall in love with this one person out of all the people on the whole wide world.

right now, i can feel that bigger things are coming.
and i wont be able to stop bettter yet control it.
    yep. thats fate knockin'.
    bring it on. :)

    The Re-return

    yes. im back.
after months and months and years of hibernation. im back.
initially i wanted to delete this blog but when i read it.
omg. it goes all the way back to when i was dumb and immature. haha:)
    so im back.
